ZNCC presentation: Rubin Hall

By: Taylor Mastrota

The Zero Net Carbon Collaboration (ZNCC) is hosting a presentation by Michael Syracuse on the Passive House Retrofit of Rubin Hall on Thursday, March 16 at 4:30 pm EDT.

Michael Syracuse, a partner at FXCollaborative Architects will share the design challenges of and solutions for the renovation of the landmarked New York University’s Rubin Hall, one of the largest EnerPHit certified residential buildings in the world. This all-electric renovation will reduce operational carbon in compliance with New York City’s Local Law 97.

Michael presented this project previously at New York Passive House.

Scott Henson, Principal of Henson Architecture, is a co-chair of the ZNCC. Jane Sanders, Henson’s Senior Associate and Director of Sustainability, is a current board member of New York Passive House. At Henson Architecture, we promote carbon reduction through Passive House retrofits of historic and existing buildings, in our own work and in the work of our colleagues around the world.
