Project Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a Project Manager with at least 5 years of direct, relevant experience with an aptitude for problem solving and the desire for a leadership role in a dynamic, collaborative work environment. Primary responsibilities include daily management, coordination and successful completion of sustainable preservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse projects to meet time and cost objectives. The candidate must be well versed in all facets of building envelope design and construction.

To be considered, the preferred candidate should have demonstrated abilities to:

  • Develop design concepts through construction documents.
  • Conduct contractor bid solicitations and reviews.
  • Perform contract administration and construction management services.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, administer change orders, review payment applications and oversee completion of project close-out.
  • Develop and actively monitor project budgets to help ensure profitability, and maintain client relationships.
  • Work efficiently on multiple projects, both independently and with team members.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with team members, consultants and clients.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication, organization and leadership skills, as well as ability to train others and monitor their work for quality and completeness.
  • Continue advancement of personal and firm’s technical skills and depth.
  • Identify new work opportunities and pursue potential projects with new or current clients.
  • Participate in proposal development and business development activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The preferred candidate will be a Registered Architect or on track to complete their registration.
  • A bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering and three years of relevant FISP inspection experience,  five years of relevant FISP inspection experience.
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture required, Masters Degree in Historic Preservation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing and administering Preservation and Restoration projects.
  • Experience with New York City Building Codes and Zoning Regulations.
  • Experience coordinating NYC Department of Buildings and Landmarks Preservation Commission filings.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Suite programs, Rhino and rendering programs.
  • Certified Passive House Designer preferred but not required.
  • Hands on construction experience a plus.

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER (APM)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) with at least 3 years of direct, relevant experience with an aptitude for problem solving and the desire for a role in a dynamic, collaborative work environment. Primary responsibilities include daily management of drawings, coordination and successful completion of sustainable preservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse projects to meet time and cost objectives and assistance to project managers and other staff. The candidate must be well versed in all facets of building envelope design and construction.

To be considered, the preferred candidate should have demonstrated abilities to:

  • Survey and document existing field conditions.
  • Correspond, coordinate, and collaborate with the design team and project managers.
  • Assist with preparation of documents for NYC Department of Buildings and Landmarks Preservation Commission filings.
  • Assist in the production of architectural plans, details, and specifications.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Suite programs, Rhino and rendering programs.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting and preparation of construction documents.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture required, Master’s Degree in Historic Preservation preferred.
  • Certified Passive House Designer preferred but not required.

MARKETING MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Marketing Manager with minimum 5 years’ experience working with an architectural firm in collaboration with Senior Management, staff, consultants and outsourced vendors. This individual understands the importance of protecting and communicating brand strategy, the firm’s mission and well-articulated messaging in alignment with our core values. They understand their critical role as the primary link of communication between the firm and our target markets.

To be considered, the preferred candidate should have demonstrated abilities to:

  • Analyze internal and external branding and marketing strategies and social media and improve upon them.  Prepare and execute brand strengthening initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior management and staff to create graphically clean, informative thought leadership content via communication channels. Understand the value of client-benefit statements in all presentations and communication.
  • Develop and maintain the firm’s digital presence by developing industry-relevant, informative, thought leadership content for Henson Architecture’s website and social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Lead, coordinate and manage collateral materials development, recruitment ads, and corporate identity development and implementation.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing quarterly and yearly marketing budgets.
  • Work with Business Development team on client-contact touchpoints.
  • Manage response preparation for prequalifications, proposals, RFQs and RFPs by coordinating with proposed team, external partners, and clients to develop complete, thoughtful, and successful proposals.
  • Be familiar with the design industry including relevant trade organizations, publications, conferences, and events.
  • Monitor industry trends and schedule meetings to share new information with the team.
  • Maintain CRM to ensure it stays current and updated.
  • Maintain and share marketing library re relevant industry developments as well as skillsets relevant to nurturing and developing client relationships.
  • Supervise marketing events and launches and use these spaces to network with industry professionals.

REQUIREMENTS:

To join us as a Marketing Manager, you should have:

  • Technical production skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively use Adobe Creative Suite, database applications, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Four-year college degree
  • Excellent English verbal and writing skills
  • Graphic design expertise
  • Experience and relationships within our identified industries.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team ethic.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with office leadership and clients.

  • Ability to self-manage project assignments from start to finish with minimal oversight.
