Jane has over 30 years of experience as an architect and more than 10 years of experience successfully completing certified Passive House projects. She specializes in high performance retrofits of existing buildings. Her work maximizes space and light while preserving historic details.
Jane ran her own urban residential firm for over fifteen years. Prior to that, she specialized in historic preservation and adaptive reuse at Jan Hird Pokorny Associates. She has worked on a variety of building types including churches, museums and townhouses preparing construction documents, technical specifications, master plans, historic structure reports and conditions surveys. She was the project architect for the restoration of the Brooklyn Historical Society and the 79th Street Maintenance Facility in Central Park.
Jane was selected by the Department of Buildings to serve as a member of the 2019 and 2025 NYC Energy Conservation Code Residential Advisory Committees to review and provide recommendations on proposed amendments to the energy code.
She has completed four certified Passive House projects, producing energy efficient buildings with superior indoor air quality. Jane lives in a Passive House in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
