Madeline Marbury

Assistant Project Manager

Madeline Marbury joined Henson Architecture after graduating from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Historic Preservation and Community Planning. While in school, she worked for a contractor specializing in historic preservation and redevelopment of existing, often historic, buildings in Charleston. 

While working and studying in Charleston, Madeline witnessed what the threat of climate change, gentrification and overdevelopment, and the impact of tourism, can do to a city’s culture and built environment. Using the city as a classroom was an invaluable experience that inspired Madeline’s desire to work in preservation and Henson Architecture has been a perfect fit.

In addition to her role as an assistant project manager, Madeline oversees our office’s Façade Inspection and Safety Program work¬ing closely with Henson project managers, Landmarks Preservationists (LPC) and the Department of Buildings to ensure the successful submission of technical reports. 

One of her favorite parts of the job is getting to put hands on buildings during close-up inspections where there is always something new to learn. Madeline is also leading the firm’s marketing efforts, managing social media accounts, generating blog content, quarterly newsletters, and other marketing materials.
