Scott Henson

Education & Experience

Principal and co-founder Scott Henson has over 25 years of experience in building design and construction, with over 18 years of experience in New York where he has worked on more than 1,000 buildings.

Over the course of his career, Scott has developed an expertise in building preservation, adaptive re-use and sustainable design with his commitment to finding technical, innovative and economical solutions to complex problems.

Recognizing that the adaptive re-use of buildings is inherently sustainable, Scott advocates for Passive House, LEED and Net-Zero standards for all his projects. Scott has been recognized by the NY Landmarks Conservancy, the Municipal Arts Society, local, state and national chapters of the AIA, and multiple preservation and community groups for his work in preservation.

During and after college Scott apprenticed under a traditional Japanese Master Carpenter and worked for a design-build practice and truly understands the value of craftsmanship. This hands-on level of craft is brought into every new endeavor, along with a painstaking attention to detail and commitment to quality. He has inspected, repaired, restored and preserved numerous buildings in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Kentucky and Maryland.

As Principal, Scott determines the appropriate staffing allocation to meet the demands of each project. He spearheads strategy development, oversees execution, and monitors quality and progress.
