Nathaniel Schlundt is a recent graduate with 5 years of experience in architectural design and historic preservation. Before joining SHA, Nathaniel spent five seasons as a site architect on archaeological digs in western Turkey and two years in Philadelphia working on large-scale preservation and adaptive reuse projects. Nathaniel’s diverse experience allows him to approach each design and preservation challenge with a unique perspective, combining his interest in urban and material conservation with a dedication to quality and craft.

Anna Melendez joined Scott Henson Architect in 2013, where as a project manager she oversees exterior restoration and historic preservation projects. She works in all phases of the design and construction process, from building surveys and inspections,
to preparation of construction documents according to the NYC building code and zoning rules and regulations. Prior to joining SHA, Anna worked in the Solar Decathlon Europe, an international competition between Architecture Universities that challenges
collegiate teams to design and build solar powered houses.

Principal and co-founder Scott Henson has over 25 years of experience in building design and construction, with over 18 years of experience in New York where he has worked on more than 1,000 buildings.
Over the course of his career, Scott has developed an expertise in building preservation, adaptive re-use and sustainable design with his commitment to finding technical, innovative and economical solutions to complex problems.
Recognizing that the adaptive re-use of buildings is inherently sustainable, Scott advocates for Passive House, LEED and Net-Zero standards for all his projects. Scott has been recognized by the NY Landmarks Conservancy, the Municipal Arts Society, local, state and national chapters of the AIA, and multiple preservation and community groups for his work in preservation.
During and after college Scott apprenticed under a traditional Japanese Master Carpenter and worked for a design-build practice and truly understands the value of craftsmanship. This hands-on level of craft is brought into every new endeavor, along with a painstaking attention to detail and commitment to quality. He has inspected, repaired, restored and preserved numerous buildings in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Kentucky and Maryland.
As Principal, Scott determines the appropriate staffing allocation to meet the demands of each project. He spearheads strategy development, oversees execution, and monitors quality and progress.
